Bicameral Legislature

The Parliament of Bhutan consists of the Druk Gyalpo (King of Bhutan), the National Council, and the National Assembly.

Democratic Transition

Bhutan transitioned to a constitutional monarchy in 2008, with the first democratically elected government taking office.

Legislative Process

The Parliament enacts laws, approves budgets, and represents the interests of Bhutanese citizens in accordance with GNH principles.
